The NDP is demanding answers from the B.C. government after it was revealed municipalities are on the hook for millions of dollars in RCMP wage increases as the result of a new policing agreement signed last month.
Justice Minister Shirley Bond helped negotiate the 20-year policing deal with the federal government, but never warned municipalities about the wage hikes, which she says could cost $8 million for Surrey alone, said Public safety critic Kathy Corrigan.
